The new solar tariff may be creating some buzz for protentional solar customers and solar companies. What is the tariff? This tariff will increase pricing of solar panels and parts. With the new tariff, this would mean higher pricing for protentional customers. We are looking forward to the future of solar and are keeping our pricing the same for the year of 2018.
We will continue to work with top-notch panel manufacturers such as Panasonic to keep fair pricing and quality panels. Along with top-notch panels, we are the only company with PoWr Guard a power production guarantee.
Letter from our Manufacturer:
Trump just made the 2018 announcements! It’s a 4-year tariff on solar modules starting with a 30% tariff in year 1, 25% in year 2, 20% in year 3, and 15% in year 4 with an exemption for the first 2.5GW of imported cells per year.
201 fact sheet (scroll to bottom) the government issued.
Articles just released on the announcement: GTM, PV Tech, Solar Power World.
We’re digesting the findings, but the quick take is it’s not nearly as bad as it could have been with requests by SolarWorld & Suniva petitioners at up to 50%, but it’s still projected to take a hit on jobs and drive module prices upward long-term.
Note that with the 2018 announcements, the IronRidge drone promo for Elite dealers has now ended.
My team will be monitoring prices closely with our module partners and will let you know as we hear more. Until we hear from those partners, we’re able to honor current pricing – so let’s get whatever you need fulfilled now. Call or email anytime.
